The NACP designated five Greek companies as “sponsors of war” in the summer of 2022, including Minerva Marine, Thenamaris and TMS Tankers.
The companies transported Russian oil and oil products, replenishing the coffers of the terrorist state and financing Russian aggression.
“Russia has always used energy, particularly oil, as a weapon. This still allows Russia to influence other countries, regardless of the sanctions imposed against it. What is crucial is that an increasing number of international companies refuse to cooperate with Russia, especially in the oil sector.
First of all, this weakens the economic capabilities of the aggressor’s military machine. And here it’s not only a matter of the integrity and responsibility of such companies but also the chance to avoid sanctions,” said NACP Chairman Oleksandr Novikov.
Background: Three major Greek shipping companies have ceased transporting Russian oil in recent weeks to avoid US sanctions currently being imposed on some shipping companies that move this product.
