The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad HC refused to quash criminal proceedings against Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal over his derogatory remarks in public against BJP and Congress in Amethi during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
One Prem Chandra lodged an FIR in 2014, under Section 125 of the Representation of the People Act with Kotwali Musafirkhana police station in Amethi , alleging that the accused Kejriwal flouted the model code of conduct by making public statements against BJP and Congress. After completion of investigation, the investigating officer submitted a charge sheet against Kejriwal under Section 125 of the Representation of the People Act.
