Mumbai Police on Friday issued traffic advisory for motorists ahead of the Lollapalooza India 2024. The police also shared a list of route diversions on January 27-28.
In a traffic advisory, Mumbai Police said, “A large number of visitors and vehicles are expected to visit Mahalaxmi Race Course on 27/01/2024 and 28/01/2024 (both days) between 12.00 hrs to 22.00 hrs.”
The police said, in order to prevent obstruction, and inconvenience to the public the traffic arrangements and route diversions were being issued.
A traffic notification was issued by Pradnya Jedge, DCP (South), Traffic, Mumbai Police.
The police said, following changes have been made in vehicular traffic-
1) Babasaheb Vichare Marg ( Bodygurd lane) will be one way from Keshavrao Khade marg to Regional Transport Office i.e. it will be close to vehicular traffic from Regional Transport Office towards Keshavrao Khade Marg.
2) The Gate of Wellington Club on Keshavrao Khade marg will remain closed for vehicular traffic.
3) There shall be no U- turn on Keshavrao Khade marg between Haji Junction to Mahalaxmi Station.
4) Vehicles coming from Worli, Pedder road to Mahalaxmi Race Course will move forward ahead to Mahalaxmi Station to right turn on (Saat Rasta) or ahead on to Worli Naka or Senapati Bapat Marg.
5) Vehicles travelling from Rakhangi Junction to Mahalaxmi race course to Straight Haji Ali can move as such. Those Vehicles dropping Visitors at Mahalaxmi Race Course can enter through gate no. 2, drop the visitors, and take further road back to Mahalaxmi Station through gate no. 7.
6) There shall be no Parking on roads around Mahalaxmi Race Course, Senapati Bapat Marg and Keshavrao Khade Marg.
7) There shall be no plying of Heavy vehicles on Keshavrao Khade Road from Haji Ali junction to Mahalaxmi Station (on both north and south bound) on the mentioned dates.
Meanwhile, Lollapalooza India 2024 has unveiled its first look ahead of the two-day festival at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse in Mumbai on this weekend. People from all over India will be travelling to the island city to witness some of their favourite Indian and international artists live over two days. It will see some of the biggest international artists like Sting, Jonas Brothers and One Republic, as well as Indian artists like When Chai Met Toast and Karan Kanchan, among others.
