Bihar police detain Chinese woman in Gaya over threat to Dalai Lama | India News

NEW DELHI: The police on Thursday detained a Chinese woman in Bihar’s Bodh Gaya in connection with an alleged threat to Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama.
The suspected spy is being interrogated, officials told news agency ANI.
Earlier today, security was beefed up in Bodh Gaya following a threat to Dalai Lama from the woman.
The ministry of external affairs (MEA) called it “a security issue” and refused to comment further.
The police had issued a sketch of the woman, identified as Song Xiaolan, besides sharing her passport and visa details with the press.
The Dalai Lama had addressed a gathering at the Mahabodhi Temple Complex in the morning.
