Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the state Congress will hold a review meetings from January 18. The party in its press release said that on behalf of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee, it will start regional level meetings for preparations and planning election strategy ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The review meetings will start from Amravati from January 18. 

In the upcoming review meetings at the division, district, and block levels to assess the party`s preparation, discussions about seat allocation in Maharashtra through the Mahavikas Aghadi coalition is also expected to take place.

These meetings were held under leadership of newly appointed in-charge Ramesh Chennithala and state president Nana Patole. Other Congress leaders Balasaheb Thorat, Ashok Chavan, Vijay Wadettiwar, Yashomati Thakur among other senior Congress leaders from the state will be present during this meets from January 18. 

Meanwhile, Maharashtra Congress on Thursday released the pamphlet of Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra that will be led by former party president Rahul Gandhi. The Yatra began from Manipur from January 14 and has reached Nagaland on on Tuesday. In the extended executive meeting at Tilak Bhavan, the Congress leadership also discussed plans to regain political influence in Maharashtra and gear up for the upcoming 2024 elections. The meeting addressed various issues, including the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi and the party`s response to the disqualification of MLAs.

In-charge Ramesh Chennithala had expressed confidence that collaborative efforts could lead to the Congress returning to power in Maharashtra and at the national level. He emphasized the need for a united front against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its divisive policies, stating that the party is committed to challenging the BJP government`s actions over the past decade. 

On Thursday, congress state President Nana Patole had highlighted the prevailing public discontent with the BJP government`s policies, stating that there is widespread anger over divisive tactics and economic challenges. He drew attention to the success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi and expressed optimism for a similar outcome for the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra in Maharashtra.
