After Punjab win, AAP gives Chadha key role for Gujarat elections | India News

NEW DELHI: Intensifying its focus on poll-bound Gujarat, Aam Aadmi Party has appointed Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha as co-in charge of party affairs ahead of the assembly elections later this year. A trusted aide of AAP national convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Chadha will be travelling across the state to boost the party campaign particularly among the youth and in order to connect with professionals in the urban constituencies.
Soon after the announcement of his appointment, Chadha, took to Twitter to thank Kejriwal for entrusting him with this “big responsibility”. “I will put in my blood, sweat, tears and toil to meet the expectations of my party. Gujarat wants change, Gujarat wants good education-healthcare. Gujarat wants Kejriwal,” he said. He described Kejriwal as his “political guru” and said “I vow to give my best and work assiduously to fulfil the expectations of my party and ensure AAP’s thumping victory in Gujarat elections.”
The party had earlier appointed Rajya Sabha member Sandeep Pathak as its Gujarat in charge.
Launching a sharp attack on BJP, Chadha said people of Gujarat are now fed up with the self-serving leadership of BJP, which has been ruling the state for the past 27 years.
He has been credited by the party for being the co-architect of the party’s landslide victory in Punjab where too he was co incharge when AAP won 92 out of 117 assembly seats earlier this year.
