Actor Dhanraj turns director for Tamil-Telugu bilingual; to star Samuthirakani as lead

Telugu actor Dhanraj, known for starring in films like Eega, Bhaagamathie and Oh! Baby, is turning director for a new project that’s backed by Prudhvi Polavarapu’s Slate Pencil Stories banner and presented by Prabhakar Aripaka.

The film will star Samuthirakani in the lead and interestingly, he had shared screen space with Dhanraj in the recently released bilingual film Vimanam.

The film’s pooja ceremony was conducted recently in Hyderabad and the event was presided over by celebrities like Sivabalaji, Subbu, Balagam Venu, Rajendra, Bharat Kamma, Sudheer, Chammak Chandra and Thagubothu Ramesh.

The untitled film will feature Samuthirakani and Dhanraj as a father and son while the rest of the cast includes Moksha, Harish Uttaman, Pridvi, Ajay Ghosh, Lavanya Reddy, Chilam Sreenu, Pramodini, and Rocket Raghava.

Written by Vimanam director Shiva Prasad, the film will go on floors from November 9. With cinematography by Durga Prasad, the film’s music and editing are by Arun Chiluveru and Marthand K. Venkatesh respectively.
