16 Nigerians Arrested, ₹1cr Drugs Seized At Kharghar Row House | Navi Mumbai News


NAVI MUMBAI: Acting on a tip-off that a contraband of narcotics has been smuggled into Navi Mumbai for supplying to parties during New Year’s Eve celebration, the anti-narcotics cell (ANC) team of Navi Mumbai crime branch raided a row house in Kharghar Sector-12 on Friday around 8.45 pm and arrested 16 Nigerian nationals, including six women, who had gathered to sell the narcotic drugs.
The police have seized from their possession ganja, charas, heroin and methaqualonecollectively worth around Rs 1 crore. The cops have also seized Rs 78,000 and 19 mobile phones from the accused Nigerians.
DCP (crime) Amit Kale said that the arrested Nigerians did not have valid passports and visas. An FIR has been registered against the accused at Kharghar police Station where they have been booked under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and Indian Passport Act.
